What: Boston Student Health Activist Community (BSHAC) is a group of health professional students interested in social justice, human rights and public health, with the aim of applying advocacy and activism approaches to enhance our role as future health care providers.
In March 2014 we held the first Boston Student Health Activist Community Summit, bringing together students from Boston University School of Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine, University of Massachusetts and Harvard Medical School to engage in workshops aimed at teaching advocacy skills for making an impact on the social determinants of health. On Oct. 4, 2014 we will hold our second student summit, with hopes for bringing together multiple student organizations in solidarity to kick off the new 2014-2015 school year with a shared vision for progress in our community.
